Matt Stewart became the senior pastor at South Shore in October 2013. Prior to his arrival at South Shore, Matt served in various roles at churches in Arkansas, Kentucky, and Texas. Matt earned a B.A. in Pastoral Leadership and Biblical Exposition from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, and an M.Div. in Christian Ministry from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. Matt and his wife Courtney have been married for eight years, and God has blessed them with five wonderful children: Titus, Mercy, Levi, Haven, and Autumn. Matt enjoys reading, studying history, drinking coffee, and watching sports.
Minister of Worship and Youth
Chris Peeler became the Minister of Worship and Youth at South Shore in October of 2015. Chris has served as a worship and youth pastor in a number of churches in both Maryland and Kentucky. He and his wife Sara grew up in Maryland before moving to Louisville, Kentucky in August of 2011 to attend Boyce College, the undergraduate school at Southern Seminary. He graduated from Boyce with a B.A. in Pastoral Worship Leadership in May of 2015. Chris is passionate about the gospel, youth and music. His hobbies include meteorology, baseball, and fishing. Chris and Sara have two sons, Silas and Behr.
David has served as a deacon at South Shore for 24 years, and as the church administrator for the past 7 years. He and his wife Christal have been married for 31 years. They have two children, Christopher and Kelsey, and two grandchildren, Kora Lynn and Kinsley. Dave loves the Redskins and enjoys cooking.
